iPhone 18 Pro eSIM-only countries: where is there no SIM tray?

Apple sells different regional variants of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The most important import difference is simple: some markets get an eSIM-only phone, while others keep a physical nano-SIM tray plus eSIM.

Fast answer: Apple says eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro / Pro Max models are sold in Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A phone bought in one of those markets cannot accept a physical SIM card.

What Apple says outside the eSIM-only markets

Apple’s current UK, German, French and Australian iPhone 18 Pro specifications list Dual SIM with nano-SIM + eSIM. That is why “iPhone 18 Pro” by itself is not enough information for a SIM decision — the purchase market matters.

Example: U.S. iPhone 18 Pro → UK carrier

If you buy iPhone 18 Pro in the U.S. and currently use a physical UK nano-SIM, you cannot simply move that card into the phone because the U.S. model has no physical SIM tray.

Apple currently lists major UK carriers including 3, EE, O2 and Vodafone for iPhone eSIM service. The practical path is to confirm your exact plan can move or reissue the line as eSIM before purchase.
