60W, 100W and 240W USB-C cables: what limits laptop charging?
A USB-C plug tells you connector shape, not the cable's full power capability.

Test 100W + 60W cable →Put it into the laptop checker and see whether the cable is the bottleneck.
Current certified markings
USB-IF's current cable certification guidance uses 60W and 240W power markings. USB Power Delivery itself can reach 240W.
Why 100W cables still exist
Before USB PD 3.1 raised the ceiling, 100W was the high-power USB-PD limit, so older 5A cables are commonly documented as 100W. The checker accepts a known 100W rating without presenting it as the current logo class.
Power and data are separate
Do not infer USB4, Thunderbolt, video or data speed from a cable's wattage.
